Have you ever noticed what the first three letters spell in diet….DIE…right? There’s a reason for that, when we decide to starve our bodies, they start to break down and die. It all comes down to a few simple things, and really, it’s not rocket science but we’ve all been told for far too long that we need to diet to lose weight and get healthy, when in fact, all we need to do is get healthy first and the inches start falling off.
How do we do that? Well, our bodies are amazing miracles but they work their very best when we’re fueling them with nutrition from three main sources…clean, lean protein; good healthy fats; and organic veggies and fruits on a consistent basis. That means eating 3 delicious meals per day plus a small snack in between each meal.
Weight loss from a “diet” is only temporary. Once you start eating again, you will find yourself gaining it all back, and, sometimes even more. To lose inches and keep it off, we must feed our bodies the nutrition it’s asking for otherwise it will go into starvation mode.
Your metabolism slows and your blood sugar plummets, and that will set off a cascade of hormones in your body that will actually cause you to store fat. Eventually, you’ll feel so hungry that you’ll want to eat ANYTHING, and chances are….it won’t be very nutritious.
Learning how to eat and create healthier habits will allow you to crowd out those awful cravings for sugar and reap the benefits of looking and feeling the best you’ve ever felt, for a lifetime!
